Lions and tigers and bears... not quite!

After being very chilly earlier in the week, the temperature reached the upper 70's today so we took full advantage of it and went to Oatland Island, Savannah's wildlife preserve. It's a mini-zoo featuring animals native to Georgia like bison, alligators, red foxes and gray wolves. I must admit that I've never seen a bison roaming around these parts but apparently they are native! There was even a Georgia farm with a cow, donkey, goats and a giant black pig. It was really fun for me and Nate... Bailey wasn't quite sure what to make of it. She did seem to enjoy riding in the carrier strapped to Daddy's chest (notice the bison over Nate's left shoulder).I looked more like a tourist than anything else, carrying the diaper bag, cooler bag with snacks and the map. But we had a blast. And isn't Bailey cute in her new hat!

Tomorrow after church we are going to an event at one of the parks here in Bluffton. There will be arts and crafts, a petting zoo and lots of food so it should be fun (again, for me and Nate... not so much for Pot Pie). Pics to come later!

Nathan is grilling out a Boston butt for dinner and then we'll probably light a fire in the chiminea and relax after Bailey goes to bed. Bring on the warm spring nights!!
